D. Stephen Duncan
Attorney at Law

D. Stephen Duncan was born and raised in Tazewell, Tennessee. After graduating from Claiborne County High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Tennessee Tech. His interest in the law led him to Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis), where he earned a Juris Doctor Degree. He then returned home to East Tennessee where he has represented clients everywhere from Johnson to Hamblen counties.

Mr. Duncan opened his own practice in 1998, specializing in bankruptcy, personal injury and social security disability claims. In 2011, he was chosen by the United States Department of Justice to serve on the panel of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees for the Easter District of Tennessee. With the addition of this position, his law practice began a greater focus on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. The office offers drafting and execution of Wills, Powers of Attorney and uncontested divorce, as well.

In previous years, Mr. Duncan has served as president of the Washington County Bar Association, Johnson City Optimist Club and the Business Resource Group. He enjoys living in Johnson City with his wife Vickie and continues to network with other local businesses regularly.
